I created a Mastodon account. You can follow me at @pacbard@toot.pacbard.duckdns.org.
Technically, it’s a GoToSocial (GtS) server instance. GtS is a light weight mastodon compatible server that allows to toot and federate with other instances.
At time of writing, GtS is in alpha version, but it still has most features needed to jump into the fediverse and start tooting away.
Setting up the server was a breeze. I just wrote a Nomad job file and sent it to the cluster. Everything worked out of the box, including reverse proxying it with Caddy 2.
Finalizing the setup required three command line commands to create the first user account and promoting it to server administrator.
Most Mastodon clients (both web and mobile) work out of the box without issues.
Feel free to follow me and say hello if you have a Mastodon account. Toot-a-loo!
