Today I was lazily exploring the tootverse (mastoverse?) and I ran into this post referencing a comic by Rakhim titled Blogging vs. blog setup.
The comic definitely hit home, as this blog is probably a mix between the “authors of custom static site generators” and “moved from jekyll to hugo people” categories. In other words, little to no real content and a lot of comments on what I am doing on my blog and/or server that hosts the blog. In other other words, crappy content that no one cares about.
The original idea behind this blog was to record things for myself, so I could remember what I did once things break down, and I have to start new again. Considering that, I am somewhat happy with this blog. After all, I don’t really mess too much with the blog/server now that is set up and everything works (kind of) most of the time.
I don’t really care to show off whatever skills I have in this blog. I don’t want to use this on my resume as a way to get hired. I have other stuff for that. I don’t want this to be a project portfolio.
But, I am still thinking about what to write about here. Maybe I’ll come up with some good ideas now that my day job doesn’t pay me to write anymore.
